Street dogs on a dirt road in Vavuniya
THEY CAN'T CALL. YOU CAN.
HOW TO REPORT

Three things that help us act fast

1
The location
Street name, landmark, or a shared location pin on WhatsApp, as exact as you can. This is the single most important thing.
2
A photo or video
Only if it’s safe to take one. It helps us judge the dog’s condition and bring the right supplies.
3
What you saw
Is the dog injured, sick, or a mother with puppies? Is it moving? Friendly or frightened? A few words are enough.
Please read this before you call, it keeps things honest.

We are a small shelter based in Vavuniya, and rescue support depends on location, capacity, and available resources. We do travel further when someone calls and we're able, it depends on the situation, but we cannot promise to take in every dog. What we promise is to listen, to advise you honestly, and to help however we can, whether that's coming ourselves, guiding you to nearby help, or supporting you to help the dog where it is.

WHILE YOU WAIT

Simple ways to help on the spot

Offer water, not risk
A bowl of water placed gently nearby helps. Avoid feeding an injured dog, and never put your hands near a frightened one.
Keep a calm distance
Injured dogs may bite from fear. Stay where the dog can see you, speak softly, and keep children and traffic away if possible.
Don’t move them alone
Unless the dog is in immediate danger (like on the road), wait for guidance because moving an injured dog wrongly can make things worse.

One call can change everything for that dog

Don't worry about saying the right thing, just tell us what you saw. Tamil, Sinhala, English, or Norwegian, day or night, we'd rather know.
